Quality Enhancement Cell is one of the many initiatives taken by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan to improve the quality of higher education in Pakistan. The QEC cells are to be established in all the Private and Public Sector Universities and Institutions of Higher Education in Pakistan, working under the guidance of HEC.

The Quality Enhancement cell (QEC) has been established at IIHE this year (2010). It has started functioning under the control of Prof. Dr. S. Altaf Hussain, Pro-Rector IIHE. The departments of Business Administration, Engineering and Textile and Fashion Design are the three departments that have initially been selected for the assessment and evaluation of all the degree, Masters and M.Phil/Ph.D programs offered by these departments.
